Because Aperta was written for use at PLOS, there remain a number of integrations with other services that are specific to PLOS's usage.
Ideally these integrations would be implemented as some sort of plugin or extension. But in our experience it is hard to develop a plugin system without a number of use cases, which we don't have at the moment.
In the meantime, the following integrations should be ignored, as they are specific to PLOS and will not be useful to non-PLOS users.
- Ithenticate
- NED (PLOS's user database)
- Salesforce (a/k/a databasedotcom)
- Apex (PLOS's typesetting vendor)
- Router (PLOS's service for publishing articles)
- Billing
- JIRA (Issue tracker)
