Right alignment not being respected by project builder?

So, for the front page of the manusscript I have to add my person address information to the top RIGHT of the document. So I use the << symbol after a paragraph, broken up by several [br], however this does not seem to work.

Here's what I'm doing.

blabla[br]moreblabla[br]evenmoreblabla[br]<<

It does not seem to get picked up by either the preview or what gets exported. Am I doing something wrong here, or have I encountered a bug?

Well, you are telling it to left align, not right align. 😃

Here's the correct syntax:

moreblabla[br]

As for what is "more logical", that's highly subjective. What you suggest seems highly illogical to me. 😄

The syntax is based on the > indentation rule, so >> just "pushes" more than a single >. That's the logic.

Anyway, you don't have to remember the syntax. There are menu entries in the Format menu for it.

Could you make it so the editor does not care where >> or << are placed relative to the paragraph it covers? Currently it seems to care quite a bit about what is put where.

What I mean is that NW would not care whether << or >> is located at the end or the start of the paragraph. Currently >> must be at the beginning and << must be at the end, otherwise they just get interpreted as regular text without any special meaning.

But the position does matter. That's the point. It's all derived from > which is Markdown syntax, and in Markdown the position matters too. The alignment syntax is intended to make sense in context with centred text, which uses >> text <<. This is where the idea of >> and << pushing away from the page edge comes from. Allowing them to be flipped also means << text >> must work, but that makes no sense to me.

I don't think it's wise to change this. It will just be more confusing. These tags are available from the menu anyway, so if you get it wrong, just use the Format menu.
