Note
The documentation for Ubuntu on WSL can be found at https://documentation.ubuntu.com/wsl/. The source for that documentation can be found in the Ubuntu Pro for WSL repo. If you are interested in contributing to the documentation, please submit your Issues and Pull Requests there.
This repository contains code relevant to the Ubuntu distribution on WSL. It builds on top of Microsoft's distro launcher reference implementation.
Tip
There is a newer method for creating the Ubuntu on WSL distro. We will be updating the Ubuntu on WSL documentation as this method is adopted. Refer to this blog about installing Ubuntu with the new distribution format.
You are welcome to create a new issue on this repository if you find bugs you believe may be particular to Ubuntu running on WSL.
Feel free to otherwise head over to Microsoft's WSL page on GitHub if your report is not specific to Ubuntu but rather more general to WSL.
We also have a page on Launchpad; we check it less often but you may find part of the community there. Ubuntu's Discourse page has news and interesting discussions about Ubuntu on WSL.
