Semi- and non-specific enzyme searches are notoriously slow. Using a novel algorithm (under review), we're able to reduce the search time of a non-specific search by roughly the range of allowed peptide lengths. For example, if you're searching for peptides between 7 and 50 amino acids, then using this handy algorithm will make your search 44 times faster than if you did it the traditional way.
