The current implementation retrieves related resources by passing a reference. The goal is to modify to retrieve related resources without necessarily having to pass a reference.

• One should retrieve related resources without requiring a reference.
• The implementation should handle cases where relatedResourcesMap is null or empty, and return an empty list in those cases.
