Starting with version 1.1.1, a side panel widget has been introduced and is enabled by default.
It's located on the center-right edge of the kiosk window, whether in portrait or landscape mode. To ensure a clean webview design it is not permanently visible.
You can activate it by tapping the red area indicated below (swiping from the right edge may also work, depending on your display hardware):
The placement is fixed and was carefully selected to minimize the chances of accidental activation. The widget theme styles are designed for the default Home Assistant dark and light themes (for custom colors and commands fork this repository).
Commands executed by the buttons may be particularly useful if you are not currently using the MQTT integration:
Refreshing the webpage
Toggling fullscreen mode
Minimizing the window
Toggling the on-screen keyboard (visible when squeekboard is used)
If you need to prevent users from accessing this, you can disable this feature by running touchkio with the --web-widget=false argument.
