As with all analogue or digital signals more cable = lower signal so the recommended cable length is 30-50cm or 12-30"
If you are forced to use 1-2m+ of cabling then it's generally recommended to use an amplifier.
RF capture on the S-Video connector uses the Luminance or Y Pin & Y GND it's recommended to get or make a breakout cable if you wish to use this input however be wary of cheap "for CCTV" sellers with terribly wired cables, it is ideal to solder your own if possible.
With 3 easy de-solder taps, you can replace the RCA connector and or add another input with BNC
