Reintroduce XAML/WPF fix since it's verified as failing

In VS2017 with a WPF app, I've verified that the current version indeed fails because the 
generated gitinfo isn't included in Compile.

Partially reverting the revert at b1cc373 fixes the 
issue consistently for projects using XAML as well as full WPF projects.
