Using this action on macOS will throw the following error:

tar: Option --hard-dereference is not supported
Usage:
  List:    tar -tf <archive-filename>
  Extract: tar -xf <archive-filename>
  Create:  tar -cf <archive-filename> [filenames...]
  Help:    tar --help

Looks to me that the MacOS runners comes with bsdtar by default but they also have gtar available (GNU tar) that is the one we want in this case. Not dereferencing hard links would cause a deployment to fail on the server side (we have checks in place for that).
