A Single Pass AOM (Acousto-Optic Modulator) modular design, referred to as singlepass here, is an optical device that utilizes the acousto-optic effect to modulate a laser beam once. Diffracted lasers with shifts in both beam direction and frequency are generated after the light passes through the AOM.

Single pass

The CAD design for singlepass includes the following components:

  • A pair of input mirrors for alignment.
  • An AOM for acousto-optic modulation (Isomet M1250-T200L-0.5).
  • A pair of lenses for beam diameter reduction.
  • A half-wave plate combined with a polarizing beam splitter to control the pass-through power.
  • A pair of output mirrors at the end of the system.
  • An iris with a slot, allowing the user to select the output light order.
