Hello,
On different project I'm working on, we are using "Multilingual Toolkit" from Microsoft. This tool allow us to follow translations when new ones are added. For example if I add a new text, then missing translation are automatically visible in the tool.
As we are working on many languages and we are not all confident with that many languages, maybe this tool can helps!
Would you like it? or have other proposition?
:)

Does this require to make the translations from scratch?

nope it's compatible with resources files ;)
have a look there : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/JJ572370(v=win.10).aspx
at work, we are using it to send xlf files (managed by the tool) to business people. the tool brings (exhaustive list) :

  • translation status (new item, pending approval, ok, ...)
  • automatic translation (using bing translator for example)
  • import/export of translation (xlf <-> resource files)
  • easy view of texts / comments and so on (example "please do not translate this to more than 20 characters for display purpose")
this avoid playing with flat files with business (even xlf files can be used by specialized translation company but it's another topic ^^ )

That's the standard recommended by Microsoft. I definitely upvote this.
