LightningRod

A collection of modpacks for Risk of Rain 2.

Modpacks

Each modpack has a very distinct feel and impact on the game (they differ in mods as well as their configuration). All of them are focused on the main game mode (i.e. Prismatic Trials etc. have lower priority when balancing/fixing stuff). They also have separate versions for dedicated servers (except for LITE, which has basically no server-side mods), which are stripped from mods that are client-only or have issues with dedicated servers.

LightningRod-LITE

• Focused on quality of life improvements
• Preserves vanilla gameplay
• Client-only (i.e. can be played with players with no mod installed)

LightningRod-GOLD

• Focused on balance and quality (I try to keep this one as bug-free as possible)
• Recommended (most effort goes into this one)
• All players need to have this modpack installed to play with each other
• Also contains all mods from LightningRod-LITE

LightningRod-FULL

• Focused on "how many mods I can install until the game breaks"
• Balancing and quality is not priority for this one
• I don't care about bugs unless they're critical
• All players need to have this modpack installed to play with each other
• Also contains all mods from LightningRod-GOLD

Installation

Modpacks release as .r2z files, a filetype used by r2modman for sharing profiles. See this page for more info on how to import them (it's super easy). Modpacks are distributed this way, because these files support custom configuration (on which these modpacks heavily depend on). I might release them on Thunderstore later, but importing the .r2z file will always be the recommended installation.

I don't recommend updating the mods by yourself, as the installed versions have been tested and updating them might break some stuff or add new content which might be unbalanced. All modpacks have been tested for game version 1.2.4.1.
