Security Policies and Procedures

This document outlines security procedures and general policies for the FastyBird Smart Panel project.

Reporting a Bug

The FastyBird Smart Panel team and community take all security vulnerabilities seriously. Thank you for helping improve the security of FastyBird Smart Panel. We appreciate your efforts and responsible disclosure and will make every effort to acknowledge your contributions.

To report a security vulnerability, please email the maintainers at security@fastybird.com.

  • The maintainers will acknowledge your email within 48 hours.
  • Within 48 hours, you will receive a more detailed response outlining the next steps.
  • The security team will keep you informed of progress towards a fix and may ask for additional information or clarification.

If the security issue is related to a third-party dependency, we recommend reporting the issue directly to the maintainers of that dependency.

Disclosure Policy

When the security team receives a report of a security vulnerability, they will assign it to a primary handler. This person will coordinate the fix and release process, which includes the following steps:

  • Confirm the vulnerability and determine the affected versions.
  • Audit the codebase for any related security issues.
  • Develop and test security patches for all supported versions.
  • Release the fixes as quickly as possible.

Comments on this Policy

If you have suggestions on how to improve this security process, feel free to submit a pull request to the FastyBird Smart Panel repository or contact the security team at security@fastybird.com.
