The global indexer is enabled as soon as this extension is installed, even if the user has disabled the indexer. The add-on will keep enabling the indexer every time Thunderbird starts.

I understand your concern. enabling global indexer neede for remote tagging and invire calendar column in mail box

We need a ui option so that cuser can switch
We have already added one option for ntlmv1 preference. (you can see that by going to preference-exchange-others)
if you can contribute a similar one will be great.
right now accepting this will disable many feature.

Shouldn't the global indexer only be enabled if I enable debugging? The pref is in debug.js, so that was my assumption.
