What is this fixing or adding?
Raises an exception giving user a little more context on why their yaml is breaking when they are trying to do something that would break things
made some more detailed comments in the client code since it can kinda be confusing
Removed useless comments that are outdated/have no real reason to be there
How was this tested?
Tested that it raises the exception when it should, and it works fine when the yaml is fine
