I mean the real reason is that at some point, the service that is used to generate the ad blocking script moved to Cloudflare, which by default blocks GitHub Actions, and then also did some changes that made building it locally a lot harder. Not sure if this has changed in between. I think I looked into it at some point and then didn't have any time/motivation left.

So I don't see it as dead, but I also don't really have the time right now to change it.

Oh and I guess since Cromite integrated Adblock Plus, there isn't too much of a point in having these scripts, at least for me personally

Hi, I think Cromite's implementation of Adblock Plus doesn't support cosmetic filtering (hiding the parts where a blocked ad was sitting) and clicking cookie consent dialog buttons. With Fanboy's Annoyances list added to Cromite I still get a lot of those, which your user scripts block. So they definitely are still needed!
