I can't find anything about a V lang implementation of a markdown to AST or HTML parser... does one exist?

Markdown support is in an external module. Do v install markdown. The module has it's own README.md

Yes. But I couldn't find it with v search:

$ v search -v ui

Well, vpm has problems, at times. Try the v install and it works.
