This repository will contain code and tutorial for DisinfoMeme: A Multimodal Dataset for Detecting Meme Intentionally Spreading Out Disinformation .
DisinfoMeme is a dataset that aims to propel the development of multimodal disinformation detection. The dataset includes links to memes and their corresponding annotations covering three current topics: the COVID-19 pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement, and veganism/vegetarianism.
DisinfoMeme contains data collected from Reddit posts. We strictly follow the restrictions and limitations imposed in the Reddit API Terms of Use. The authors roles were separated by data access and storage. Only authors Jingnong Qu, Liunian Harold Li, Jieyu Zhao, and Kai-Wei Chang from University of California, Los Angeles and University of Maryland, College Park were involved in data collection, cleaning, storage, and access.
