Update dependencies, release?

Currently there are a group of automatic PR's sitting there to update various dependency versions. As far as I could tell from a quick look, none of these is particularly urgent. However, doing a round of the small updates and getting a 1.0.1 version out with them, would be a nice "sign of life" in the project.
