Error - "Failed to save package.json"

I couldn't see any "devdependencies" in package.json file after entering the command "yarn add --dev hardhat". While saving, it's showing an error mssg saying
" Failed to save 'package.json': The content of the file is newer. Please compare your version with the file contents or overwrite the content of the file with your changes."
Can someone help me out with this?
