VS Code Bash terminal

Im running VS code on window 10. In the videos i see a $ at the end of your command line in your bash terminal. In my bash terminal i have a # at the end of my command line.

For example root@blackandblue:/hh-fcc# is displayed in my bash terminal
patrick@iMac: [/hh-fcc] $ is displayed in the bash terminal in the video on the course.

Do i have my bash terminal setup correctly?

This means that you're logged in as the root user. This is Ok, but from a permissions standpoint, you probably don't want to be root.

Or... what happens when you run logout or exit in the shell and reopen?
