Typo3 <base> tag Problem in conjunction with svg sprites #273

I tried using plyr in a typo3 based project and it seems that the tag that Typo3 uses breaks the paths to the svg sprites. Is there a way to work around the tag so plyr can load the svg sprites again.

(angular/angular.js#8934) <-- this seems to be a similar problem.
