In the past, we had a loosely defined idea of what was expected of students doing RCOS for "experience" instead of funding or course credit. At this moment, we don't have much.

This issue is to discuss concepts for the "experience" student experience

IMO

Doing RCOS for experience means being a part of the RCOS community in an active way as a student. This means you get all the benefits of being an RCOS member, without having guidelines enforced.

Some notable benefits:

  • Attend Tech Talks
  • Receive mentorship and technical help with many projects/technologies
  • Contribute to RCOS projects
  • Receive recognition as an official RCOS member
