HTTP request failed when starting python interpreter

I am getting the error in the attached screenshot when I try to run cells in an .ipynb notebook using Python 3.8.0. Im not sure how to troubleshoot, when i view the logfile it is empty.

To recreate: I am getting this error when trying to run the APAVA_preprocessing.ipynb notebook from this repo. After cloning the repo, creating a virtual environment, installing Python 3.8.0 and the required packages (in requirements.txt), i opened this file, selected the correct kernel, Python 3.8.0 (Venv: .venv), tried to run the first cell and then receieved the error below.

Any help appreciated! happy to provide more details if necessary

Thanks for the report! I unfortunately can't seem to reproduce your issue. A couple of things:

• Can you provide a little more info about your system? You can copy Help->about and paste it here
• Can you look at the logs in the OUTPUT tab, and select your python environment and look for any errors?

I should also maybe mention that when i started the python 3.8.0 interpreter, i was prompted to install ipykernel , which failed (cant rememebr the exact error), but i was able to install it manually:

I would suggest you update to the latest Positron if possible. You can go to the releases page in this repository, or from https://positron.posit.co/download.html
