Via AI for some context. (For me, I am not personally concerned) Mozilla recently updated the Terms of Use (TOU) and Privacy Notice for its Firefox browser, aiming to clarify how user data is handled. However, the initial language caused confusion and backlash, as it seemed to suggest Mozilla might claim ownership of user data or use it for purposes like AI or advertising. The controversial phrasing granted Mozilla a "nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license" to use data input through Firefox. This led to concerns about data privacy and ownership. Mozilla quickly revised the language to clarify that it only seeks the rights necessary to operate Firefox and does not claim ownership of user data. They also updated their Privacy FAQ to address legal nuances around terms like "sell," explaining that Mozilla does not sell user data in the way most people understand the term. While Mozilla's intent was to provide transparency, the changes have raised questions about their privacy commitments. For instance, Mozilla removed blanket claims like "we never sell your data," citing evolving legal definitions of "sale" under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Should you be concerned? Mozilla has reiterated its commitment to privacy and clarified that data shared with advertisers is de-identified or aggregated. However, if you're particularly cautious about data privacy, it might be worth reviewing their updated Privacy Notice and adjusting your Firefox settings accordingly.

Perhaps by now some of you have seen MentalOutlaw's video on the recent removal of certain phrases in Firefox's documentation/terms.
I am looking to begin a discussion with like-minded people who are similarly somewhat concerned about this.
I only recently updated from 134 to 137 due to thinking I was finding malfunctions with certain add-ons of @piroor but that was incorrect and a mistake on my behalf, so I regret updating.
I wonder if this is a concern to anyone else at all?
Leave your thoughts and perhaps anyone with a better understanding of the situation could chime in, as without going full-conspiracy nutter, I do wonder if this is impactful for our future privacy.
