BLAST+ can be used with the NCBI taxonomy files, particularly for building databases - can we tie this into Galaxy's ncbi_taxonomy.loc allowing versioning vs the current behaviour of implicitly using whatever NCBI BLAST+ finds on disk via environment variables?
I have the same for the diamond data manager. Started working on this here bgruening/galaxytools#1011 .. but stalled because I was unsure about the best possible way to implement this (in particular because diamond would need even more information from the taxonomy: bgruening/galaxytools#1011 (comment)).
