Steps to reproduce

  • Open a GRIB file with projection "XyGrib"
    • Mapview works
  • Switch to a different projection, e.g. "Mercator"
    • Mapview is broken
    • merc: Invalid latitude printed in stdout

Versions

  • XyGrib: latest master
  • Proj: Rel. 9.1.1, December 1st, 2022

Problem

  • with the debug printing in map2screen, problem appears with latitude > π/2 (1.57). This corresponds with 90°N in libproj

Solution

  • Convert lat/lon to radians
