I'd like to access the debug header, do you have a way to non-destructively open the case?

That's a good question. Note this is a temporary answer, our position on the subject may change in the future.

I'm starting with the bad news : opening your device will void your warranty and is not officially supported.

Now in practice, the good news is that it's very easy to open and it you most likely won't damage your device. Here's a small step-by-step tutorial:

  1. Carefully remove the white silicon pads using a pointy device like a needle.
  2. Store them on a non-stick surface (glass for example)
  3. Unscrew the 6 phillips screws
  4. That's it! There are no plastic clips whatsoever so you don't need to bend the case to open it.
  5. When you open the device, don't pull the back cover too far too fast as you'll need to unplug the battery to fully open it.

I guessed it would void my warranty :-) Thanks this is very helpful. My plan is to have the one I'm doing debugging on, on the bench and one untouched production one to test the firmware on a production one.

Took the back off, the 6 screws are actually Torx T6 (not phillips). Very clean design, you guys did a great job on this! Now I'm trying to decide if I want to use my rotary tool to make a slot so that I can bring the cortex debug connector out via a ribbon cable, or cut a small square window in the back which would let me plug "through" the case. I don't know if you have used the BMP debug probe but this is an ideal layout for it, the 10 pin connector next to the 3 pin serial pins for diagnostics.

If you carefully look at the inner side of the back case, you'll see we marked the location to be drilled out to let a standard Cortex Debug probe through 😄
