Steps to reproduce

  1. When sharing a file or folder, an event is created showing what the permissions to the shared file or folder are such as: "The file "/New text file.txt" with ID "938472" has been shared to the group "splunktest" with permissions "19" (Share ID: 49)"

Expected behaviour

Nothing incorrect is happening, but some documentation of what those permission numbers mean would be very useful to auditors.

GitMate.io thinks possibly related issues are #7588 (Folder permissions), #2658 (Sharing and permissions), #8479 (Simplify sharing permissions for folders), #2851 (Moving shared folders), and #6856 (Question - Sharing Folders).

I think it's a bitmask of

const PERMISSION_CREATE = 4;
const PERMISSION_READ = 1;
const PERMISSION_UPDATE = 2;
const PERMISSION_DELETE = 8;
const PERMISSION_SHARE = 16;
const PERMISSION_ALL = 31;
