* TWC fit plots: add xy labels and add legend, add grid
* Packet separation and packet length figures: (i) correct legend it should
be packet_length in the legend instead of packet_separation, (ii) make it a
bar plot rather than a line plot (iii) add units to the xy axis
* uploading of the flight-cst files to the badc is not working at the moment.
The files are not moved out of the incoming directory at the badc, due to a bad
md5 checksum. This is most likely caused by a mix-up of binary or ascii upload.
I remember that we had a very similar issue a few years back.
* Correct and harmonize parameter long_names:
For example
Headingfrom POSAV GPS-aided Inertial Navigation unit(degree)
dew point from the General Eastern instrument.(degK)
Mole fraction of Carbon Monoxide in air from the AERO AL5002 instrument (ppb)
Radar height from the aircraft radar altimeter.(m)
(*DONE*)
* Using the code snippet below does not return a decades_dataset that contains
TEIOZO parameters. The rawdlu.zip does not contain a TEIOZ_TCP definiton file,
but adding it via add_file did not solve this.
The solution was to add the defintion file to the rawdlu.zip file. I don't think that is
the intention.
from ppodd.core import *
import ppodd.pod
d=decades_dataset()
d.add_file('/home/axel/Dropbox/cast2014/b823/core_faam_20140118_r0_b823_rawdlu.zip')
d.add_file('/home/axel/Dropbox/cast2014/decades_files/flight-cst_faam_20140118_r0_b823.txt')
d.add_file('/home/axel/Dropbox/cast2014/decades_files/TEIOZO01_TCP_v4.csv')
d.process()
d.write_nc.process('/home/axel/b823.nc')
* setup clean is not working at the moment
axel@obelix:~/git-repos/decades-pp$ sudo python setup.py clean
/usr/lib/python2.7/distutils/dist.py:267: UserWarning: Unknown distribution option: 'include_package_data'
warnings.warn(msg)
running clean
The build directory has to be deleted manually before reinstalling the code.
* makefile has no clean option
* Installation issue: When I run "python setup.py install" the script
can't find the ifort option and therefore the c_runmod.so is not
created and not copied to /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages.
Not sure yet if this affects every machine. At the moment the solution is
to build c_runmod.so from the fortran_modules directory and to copy it manually. (*DONE*)
* IR_UP_C and IR_DWN_C data end up in netcdf although instrument is not fitted.
Maybe the default setting for the IR should be not to be added (edit self.input_names in write_nc) (*DONE*)
* ppodd netcdf files contain nan values; but they should not
* all "standard_name" attributes for the parameters in the netcdf are empty (empty = "")
* Gin data not flagged as 3 when GIN_LAT and/or GIN_LON are 0
* averaging for creating 1Hz data is not working for angles (wind direction, gin hdg, etc.)
import scipy.stats
scipy.stats.circmean
might be the solution
* adding gin offset constants to the flight constants file (*DONE*)
* adding the noturb code to the gin decades-pp (*DONE*)
* From an email from Alan Blyth on the 5/7/13:
"When I try to run ncplot on the 4 July 1Hz data file, it
gives me an error message "File does not contain Time dimension".
ncrename -d data_point,Time core_faam_20130704_v004_r0_b785_1Hz.nc out.nc
fixes this problem.
* buck processing code and flagging; add it to the ppod code; translation from idl to python (*DONE*)
* double check flagging to make sure that missing values do match the defintion of missing_values for all variables
* Below is a short bash script that can be run on the core netcdf file to make it compliant with some american
3d plotting software (I can't remember the name). But maybe it would be worthwhile to add the global
coordinates to the netcdf file too
#!/bin/bash
ofile=`echo $1 | sed s/.nc/_editted.nc/`
ncatted \
-a 'conventions,global,m,c,NCAR-RAF/nimbus' \

-a '_FillValue,LAT_GPS,m,f,0' \
-a '_FillValue,LON_GPS,m,f,0' \
-o $ofile $1
ncwa -a sps01 -O $ofile $ofile
ncrename -d data_point,Time -O $ofile
