Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No

  • VS Code Version: 1.97.1
  • OS Version: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) x86_64

Also had the same issue on LMDE 6, which is based on Debian 12 bookworm.

I think window.titleBarStyle has been changed to custom by default, on 1.97.1...

You can disable the custom title on Linux via configuring window.titleBarStyle: native

As for following more closely Linux window manager styling, see #176467
