Currently there a lot of menus in VSCode that can be opened via the mouse but that always appear at the top-center of the window even if the button that activated them is located somewhere else. This happens for example when clicking the Source Control Checkout item in the status bar or when clicking the "Customize Layout..." button on the right corner of the window. This makes for bad usability as the user needs to move the mouse a significant distance to act on the menu they just opened. Ideally there should be an option to make these menus open from where the click occurred just like traditional drop-down menus.
