Configuration defaults are not displayed in feature contributions tab of extension editor

I created an extension that solely consist of the package.json file:

When I install this extension as a vsix I get the following:

1. The settings details page does not show any contributions:

True, I did not go through the description completely and just marked as dup by going through summary. Will update the summary & description accordingly and also created an issue for point 2 - #138527
