[Power Toy Settings>General>left pane]

User Impact:
It will impact all the screen reader users if the screen reader is not notifying the users on activating open/close navigation button.

Test Environment:
OS Version: 20226.1000
App Name: Power Toy Preview
App Version: v0.23.0
Screen Reader: Narrator

Reproe-Steps:

  1. Open Power Toys Settings App. Turn on narrator.
  2. Navigate to 'Open Navigation' button present in left pane and activate it and verify the issue.

Actual Result:
Screen reader does not notifying the user after activating close/open navigation button.
Note:
Same issue is repro with NVDA(2020.2)

Expected Result:
Screen reader should announce the confirmation information after activating open/close navigation button. So that screen reader users will get notified.

Couldn't find any example of this in Windows Settings, but the Xaml Controls Gallery app has a Navigation View with the open/close button. On pressing it, it seems the Narrator reads out a new name for the button, i.e. when it is closed it says "Open NavigationView button" and vice versa.

@ryanbodrug-microsoft @crutkas @saahmedm This seems to be a Xaml Islands bug as I was able to repro it by modifying the Xaml Islands Sample, but not on Xaml Controls Gallery. I have made an issue for this on the WinUI repo microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml#3494

This seems to be a WinUI issue, will create external tracking issue.
