Archimedes A5000 drive empty issue

Hi,

I am trying to get a Gotek with FlashFloppy working on my Acorn Archimedes A5000.

I have the drive selector in position S1
FF.CFG has:
interface = ibmpc
index-suppression = no

as outlined in the guidance. I have tried other values for these in different combinations but no joy.

I have ensured the disk images I am using are of the correct size. These images work with emulators.

When clicking on the floppy drive icon the Gotek activity light comes on but the OS reports Drive Empty. I have ensured a disk image is selected.

I have tried plugging the Gotek into both of the floppy drive connectors on the motherboard.

I am not sure what else to try.

Also not sure if this is related but when I have both the existing FDD and Gotek plugged in the Gotek does not appear as a second FDD in the OS and clicking on the one FDD icon the existing FDD drive is accessed. I would like to figure out how to have them both accessible but all the the debug above has been done with the existing FDD completely unplugged.

Well I have managed to get the Gotek working now. I changed a file name of one of the disk images on the USB stick and it started working correctly. Changing the file name back to what it was things continue to work. I have absolutely no idea why this fixed the Drive Empty issue but I am not going to complain.

The next issue is that I cannot get the Gotek to work at the same time as the existing FDD. Each are plugged into the two separate FDD connectors on the motherboard with a straight untwisted floppy cable. I have tried setting the Gotek to both S0 and S1 with the jumpers but whenever the existing floppy drive is connected I just get a single Drive 0: and when I access this it is the FDD that springs into life. Disconnecting the FDD and powering back up I still get a single Drive 0: but this then successfully accesses the Gotek.

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
