Is it possible to mod 8J0907159(B)? #47

I'm wondering if it is possible to mod the firmware of 8J0907159 and 8J0907159B, which are from the TDI TT and the TTS. The former is locked to the TDI engine, while I'm not sure yet if the latter is locked to the TTS specific version of the 2.0 TFSI engine or if it will work in the TT 2.0 TFSI. The TTS has an EA113, but with a different engine code of CDLB instead of BWA or BPY.
What exactly is the software lock comparing against btw?
