Passing APRS Data via DMR Gateway in MMDVMhost with Pi-Star

Recently my Anytone DMR radio became capable of sending APRS data to APRS.fi through Brandmeister servers. With DMR Gateway selected as the DMR Master in Pi-Star, the APRS Data would not be Received at APRS.fi. When I switched to a direct connection to the BM Server (US 3108) the data started showing up at APRS.fi.

This phenomenon also seems to be happening for some hybrid repeaters. I found a user in Germany that has the APRS data not passing to APRS.fi on a Hytera repeater running a Dec 2017 version of G4KLX DMR Gateway..

Any idea on why the Gateway is not passing APRS data. Their data is sent as a private call similar to SMS Texting.
