  • Friend of mine has a little experience writing Python code for data science applications.
  • He wants to learn because he thinks Elm could be good for writing web apps.
  • He wasn't sure how to spin up the example counter app on his laptop.

Interesting!

I just shuffled the guide around so that folks would not have to install until much later. The idea was that folks could get familiar with Elm in the online editor, and then only install once they were excited to do so.

Do you know why he wanted to do it locally vs in the online editor? Would Ellie provide more of what he was looking for?

He saw the examples on Ellie but wanted to work through the guide on his machine since he presumes a typical app is developed locally. Happy to connect you to him if you would like to speak directly.
