Discussion

  • Bellatrix update
  • TTD estimation at bordel.wtf
  • post-Merge testnets
  • block times go from ~13s to exactly 12s. may impact lending protocols and how they calculate annual rates (use timestamps)
  • setting fee recipient: tx fees go to validator address on the Execution layer: see here
  • Validators need to run both Execution and Consensus clients - and diversity matters for both EL and CL clients: guides here

I have a doubt.

Let's suppose I have an execution layer node running (let's say geth). Does my node will stop working after the Bellatrix upgrade (on the consensus layer)? In other words, Should I have a consensus layer node up and running before the 6th Sept (Bellatrix upgrade) in order to keep my geth node running and syncing?

Not before today, but before TTD is hit (ETA here: bordel.wtf). That said, if you run a CL node, you should have an EL running alongside it as of now.
