Hi @joaquinps you can use https://github.com/ether/etherpad-proxy for adding Etherpad instances. As a general rule of thumb the newer versions of Etherpad added a lot of performance improvements. If you want to scale Etherpad it's best to have a fast database. There are very big instances like Wikimedia so it is definetely possible to handle a lot of users/requests.
