IE and GB NIR Estimation Model

The data fetched from EIRGRID Group is incomplete. The parser collects data for the following kinds:
- Demand,
- Wind production,
- Electricity exchanges.
Generation data published by EIRGRID does not provide a full production breakdown.
Consequently, production for Ireland and Northern Ireland is estimated using the Mode Breakdown model. The estimation process is as follows:
- The parser collects wind production and unknown production. Unknown production is estimated as:
Demand + net exports - wind
- Unknown production is then broken down using data from SEAI or BRMS.
- In the case of Ireland, unknown production is reallocated using a monthly production mix. This monthly mix is computed for the last three full years of data. This enables the capture of the different modes' seasonality.
- For Northern Ireland, unknown production is broken down using an annual production mix.
