https://github.com/lvv/git-prompt/blob/master/git-prompt.sh does a lot more work than our git_prompt (e.g. branch ahead/behind), merge status, etc. Some of this we probably don't want to support, but it's worth taking a look.

Look also at the other "modules", like vim and virtualenv.
