Ok, this is going to require an explanation.
For most of the porn boards, I look at them, I open tabs, I suspend them, and wait for them to 404, harvest images, move on.
For boards like /g/ I look through the board, see if there is anything interesting, open it, and move on. many boards I visit are like this where I see what's interesting and move on.
Now, I had gotten the idea to hide every post on boards that I have seen, and wait for 404s on ones I was interested in.
This is a cumbersome task, and with boards like /g/ where I may only find 10 threads worth going though or interesting, it can be time consuming going back through the threads
Then this whole hidden images not staying hidden shit has happened, thoroughly fucking what use to be a fairly easy if not monotonous task. I don't blame you, I have no clue what is causing it and can only speculate, however, I came up with an idea.
clearly by looking at a board, you can see the creation date as you can sort by it.
if I am just looking at a board for its new posts, would it be able to create a 'permanent' filter for everything older than the newest non sticky post?
Likely my use case for it is unique, but I think quite a few people only look at the non porn boards for threads they are interested in, they then watch them, something that is unaffected by a filter/hide so they would find it useful
the people who go to a porn board to jerk it to whatever they find and move on, these people would benefit from an unhide time button.
my thinking would be you would need 2 new buttons by the sort/catalogue a 'mark time' and 'hide/unhide time' button, mark would update the time filter for the page, hide unhide would enable/disable the time filter for said page,
this may nessassaite a refresh to make it work with other filters where lets say you hide 'diapers' and 'everything older than 5/17/18 20:24:53' pressing the button would add # to the time filter making it ignored, but if the button unhide, it would also bring up "diapers" without a refresh
just an idea, I think it would be very useful and require very little to implement. but I could be completely wrong on how easy it would be to do, I would just work within the current filter system rather then however the current hide system works, given the issues that hide is having recently.
