Description

Shortcuts like CmdOrCtrl+C / CmdOrCtrl+C / CmdOrCtrl+A doesn't work when the input alphabet is different from Latin. I have to switch my input language to English every time I have to copy text or open new tab with CmdOrCtrl+T.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Add language that doesn't use Latin alphabet to your input sources (example: Bulgarian)
  2. Select this language
  3. Open a web page and try to copy, paste or select all

Reproduces how often:
100%

@bsclifton These are essentially the same, I believe: all shortcuts not working when using non-English kb layout. (Russian in my case)

After 2 updates, this is really annoying. In most cases all the usual shortcuts are simply not working: I have to switch to English first to ensure the browser is functional.

It gets especially frustrating when typing in non-English layout: CMD+C, CMD+V, all the usual things that help to organise and edit text on the go, they don't work.

From what I saw here Brave uses electron.Menu module. I searched for related issues in the electron community and I found this:

atom/atom-keymap#203
electron/electron#9352
electron/electron#8741

I hope this may help you.

I believe you are correct @sliday - this is the same issue as #11908 😄 Closing as a duplicate
