<h2 id="explanation"> Bonus Star Explanation <a title="Permanent link" href="#explanation">¶</a> </h2>
<span>
<p>Bonus Stars are always given at the very end of a game, directly before the winner is determined. They reward players that met certain conditions throughout the game (e.g, won the most minigames or landed on the most happening spaces) with one additional star. Each game uses different Bonus Stars that require different conditions to be met.<!-- Here's how each game handles bonus stars:<--></p>

<ul>
<li>Mario Party Advance and Island Tour don't use bonus stars.</li>
<li>All games except MP10 <span class="note">(Mario Party 10)</span> & SMP <span class="note">(Super Mario Party)</span> reward the players with 3 different Bonus Stars.</li>
<li>MP10 & SMP use 2 instead.</li>
<li>In SMP, if everyone has at least one ally a third Bonus Star will be given out, said Bonus Star will always be "Buddy Bonus".</li>
<li>Mario Party: Star Rush only awards bonus stars in it's "Toad Scramble" and "Balloon Bash" mode, each having different ones.</li>
<li>Mario Party: The Top 100 only awards bonus stars in it's "Minigame Match" mode.</li>
</ul>

<p><img src="img/mpa.png" class="textImg" alt="MPA" title="Mario Party Advance" /> and <img src="img/mpit.png" class="textImg" alt="MPIT" title="Mario Party Island Tour" /> are the only Mario Partys that don't use any bonus stars.</p>
<p>Most games give out 3 Bonus Stars with the following exceptions:<br>
<ul>
<li><img src="img/mp10.png" class="textImg" alt="MP10" title="Mario Party 10" /> & <img src="img/smp.png" class="textImg" alt="SMP" title="Super Mario Party" /> only award 2 bonus stars.</li>
<li>In <img src="img/smp.png" class="textImg" alt="SMP" title="Super Mario Party" />, if every player had at least one ally then a third bonus star will be given out which will always be "Buddy Bonus".</li>
<li>In <img src="img/mps.png" class="textImg" alt="MPS" title="Mario Party Superstars" /> & <img src="img/smpj.png" class="textImg" alt="SMPJ" title="Super Mario Party Jamboree" /> the game will only award 2 bonus stars <i>unless</i> the highest amount of turns is used, in which case 3 bonus stars will be given out instead.</li>
</ul>

<p>As <img src="img/mp9.png" class="textImg" alt="MP9" title="Mario Party 9" /> & <img src="img/mp10.png" class="textImg" alt="MP10" title="Mario Party 10" /> both don't use normal stars they give out 5 Mini-Stars instead. On DK's Jungle Ruins (<img src="img/mp9.png" class="textImg" alt="MP9" title="Mario Party 9" />) they use 10 Bananas instead.</p>
<p><img src="img/mps.png" class="textImg" alt="MPS" title="Mario Party Superstars" /> & <img src="img/smpj.png" class="textImg" alt="SMPJ" title="Super Mario Party Jamboree" /> have the option for "Classic" and "On" (all) bonus stars. Classic only includes "Eventful Star", "Minigame Star" and "Rich Star" (the first three listed below) while "On" includes all bonus stars the game supports (listed below).</p>
<p class="note">Very little has been documented about Mario Party Star Rush & The Top 100 so some information might be wrong or missing.
