Sometimes we want to "brute force" or preview a code when we aren't sure if we remembered it correctly. There is CTCSS/DCS search, but that does not set the TX code, plus there is currently a bug where it resets the TX CTCS/DCS codes when search is used. If this is implemented well I think it should not use much additional space.
