This meeting will orient us all towards a common understanding of what is required of the technology that will underpin GSIP this FY.

It is anticipated that the technology will maintain its “proof-of-concept” status for this FY with potential for an operationalized implementation in the future.

Agenda

  1. Relationship to SELFIE
  2. Brainstorm – 40min
    1. High-level use cases
    2. Roadmap
  3. Resourcing – 15min
    1. How much time does everyone has allocated to GSIP?
    2. Determine the available technical capacity
  4. Next steps – 5min
    1. Schedule demos (5 min each): GSIP-CAN (Heryk J), GSIP-US (Dave B), CHYF (Mark S), ECCC-WFS (Tom * K) (later this week???)
    2. Schedule requirements elicitation meeting (later this week???)

Meeting Notes

Relationship to SELFIE

  • GSIP Canada/US portion of SELFIE - Technical component of collaboration
    • one implementation of many

Climate Change Action Plan Deliverables

  • last year of contribution
  • report at a high level to GC
  • develop prototype LD system that crosses Canada/US border - Proof of concept
    • FYE deliverable (March 31, 2020)

Challenges

  • technical integration
  • data integration (stream segments)

Use Cases

  • Primary: link stream networks - via hypermedia
  • Secondary: link related things to stream networks (e.g. wells, aquifers, hydrometric stations)
  • nodes, other jurisdictions should be able to spin up a node and linkages should be harvested...
  • interfaces?
  • API's?
  • SPARQL endpoint off the table/optional
  • harvest linkages via LD infrastructure (hypermedia)
  • centralized link repository
    • RDF on GitHub? Maintain own RDF files
    • start with cross border rivers and aquifers
    • interface to linkages? hypermedia document

Actions

  • Joost to summarize high-level use cases and distribute
