So I had this idea. There are the events where Caesar requests the player to send legions to distant battles.
I was wondering if the community would be open to a change where the player would get to actually fight the distant battles.
This is what I had in mind:
The player would send their legions. When their legions would arrive to said location, the player could temporarily switch their map with the distant location (only for the duration of the battle). This could be an empty map (where the player would get to build a city in the future after achieving a next level), or a city the player had previously built during a previous level of the game. If the player were to lose the battle (having their legions die or run away), they would have to fight with the enemy troops again in their current city in the near future. Losing could also result in the Empire losing territory (which may affect the current game more if the attacked city was a trading partner of the current city, meaning they would not be able to continue trading with the city that was lost). After losing a territory, maybe it could be won back again by sending legions again and fighting again on the map (which would have more enemies and/or natives and native infrastructure).
What do you think?
P.S.: I am using Augustus v4. I am immensely grateful for your work! I really appreciate what you do. Honestly, I enjoy Augustus way more than I did Caesar 4.
