@crystabelrangel, do you want to sync up next week to discuss open terminology decisions that need to be made?

I'd appreciate your thought partnership for language around "NOFO attachments." #3112

@andycochran, here is a link to the terminology updates @michellemin-nava are suggesting.

We reviewed the Data Standards spreadsheet to cross reference if the below terms had any restrictions, and we did not find any.

Below are the proposed terminology updates:
Current > Proposed Change

  • Award ceiling > Award max
  • Award floor > Award min
  • Forecasted > Upcoming
  • Posted > Open
  • Funding instrument type > Funding type
  • Posted date > Published

Let us know how you would like to move forward with this? Would you like to share with Julius?

Would also like to get @chouinar's take on the proposed status names: Upcoming, Open, Closed, Archived

Emily is reviewing this with the Grants Data Standards team and will get back to us.

Here's the last update we got from Emily:

Update on shifting to plain language terms on SGG: Ross said that he is very open to changing the terms that were suggested and doesn't know of any regulatory guidance that dictates that language. He'd like to meet with y'all about this and include Camille so that the SimplerNOFOs team also uses any "user approved" plain language edits that your team recommends for SGG
^ oh and would also like Julius and Lucas to be there too if possible

Next steps: Set up a call with Ross, Camille, Julius, and Lucas
@andycochran how would you like to move forward with this?

@crystabelrangel crystabelrangel moved this from In Review to Blocked in Simpler.Grants.gov Product Backlog Feb 27, 2025

I think we're good to move forward with the UI change for: Award max/min, Upcoming, Open, Funding type, and Published. Can close this issue.

We'll coordinate any additional collaboration with Ross through @lucasmbrown-usds and Julius.
