Feature Request: "Manage Blogs" link takes me to a new (old) dashboard #98037
Comments
Oof this is rough! I can replicate this. To be safe, I replicated it on a non automattic test account: old.blog.movAdding this to bottle pick up for dev teams. |
@Automattic/t-rex, is this related to the recent Forcing wp-admin over Calypso changes? |
Closing as not planned for now. Context: it's pre-existing behavior. We cannot remove the old dashboard because it has Post by Voice/Email. There was a similar discussion not too long ago p1736869499409499-slack-C07H21B2W59. |
I'm confused. Previously this was noted as an area to improve back in May 2024 pfsHM7-LD-p2#comment-1201. A project was then undertaken to bring post by voice into a wp-admin/Calypso settings. The same happened for post by email as you can see here https://github.com/Automattic/dotcom-forge/issues/6941. If we are meant to be keeping this archaic and poor experience around because of two features that have since been replicated in other settings, what is the argument to keep it there now and continue to send people here? Is this just a case of folks not realizing both of these features have been replicated elsewhere? cc @fredrikekelund as you worked on this and perhaps can confirm/deny some of the above :) |
I stumbled across this today and found it incredibly confusing. Can't we migrate the 'post by voice/email' actions elsewhere then remove it? |
@jameskoster oh sorry, we should've came and updated this issue, there's some discussion here: p1737567748452709-slack-C06FCT6EEHH but tl;dr
I'll close this issue as a duplicate of the tracking issue |
Yes! @jameskoster please help, design wise, with this to move it forward if you have the time/capacity: #98772 |
